What are you working on at the moment?
I’ve gotten a few short stories published recently and that’s given me more motivation to keep cranking out short stories!
What are your writing aspirations?
To write what I like, no matter if it’s a book that never gets published or a story that’s rejected a million times. I also want to have fun with writing and if I don’t enjoy writing a piece, that’s a sign to me that it’s probably not worth writing it.
What do you love about working at the Writers’ Cafe?
Inspiring and motivating writers to keep writing no matter what.
What’s your best piece of writing advice?
Write what you like writing, not what’s most profitable or enjoyable for others. You’ll burn out that way. Focus on what makes you happy and be confident in what you do.
Which authors do you admire?
Gillian Flynn because I love me some messed up female protag novels. George Saunders Lincoln in the Bardo has great imagery and memorable characters. Harper Lee brings you home to the Southern USA and makes you feel like you’re right there with the characters.
