Have you always wanted to write a novel?
Join the Writers’ Cafe Novel Writing Club and fulfil that dream in 2020!
Do you have an idea for novel, but actually writing it feels like a huge and daunting task? Maybe you’ve started a novel (or several) but not finished it, because life keeps getting in the way?
Imagine finally holding that finished novel draft in your hands on 31st December 2020. The Novel Writing Club is here to give you the motivation, the accountability and the support you need to make it happen this year!
How it works
Start your new year’s writing resolution with a January planning session where we discuss your story ideas and plan out your novel-writing process for 2020.
From February onwards, we’ll have regular monthly Novel Writing Club meetings, where we’ll set personalised writing goals for the month ahead, report on our progress, and celebrate our achievements. You will also have a monthly meeting with your writing mentor, where you’ll get one-to-one writing support specific to your novel and your writing process – whether it’s developing a character, figuring out your plot, or dealing with writers’ block.
Every week, we’ll schedule a number of “writing dates” at various times and locations across Auckland CBD, and you’re welcome to attend as many or as few of these as suit you. We’ll have a mix of weekday, evening and weekend options, and we’ll usually meet in a quiet cafe. These writing dates are opportunities for you to make sure you designate regular writing time in your schedule, to ensure you stay on track to meet your goals.
We’ll also give you 50% off on all Writers’ Cafe workshops during your membership. These take place throughout the year, and cover a range of topics from developing a plot to writing dialogue. You’ll also get an invitation to a free private Facebook group for Novel Writing Club members only, where you can chat with your fellow writers, discuss progress and get peer support.
