Mentoring

You’ve got a novel to write. Let’s make it happen.

Imagine holding that finished book in your hands. A mentor can provide the concrete support you need to make that dream a reality.

Our experienced mentors will support and guide you through to your finished manuscript, helping you construct a novel that is well structured, with convincing characters and a gripping plot. You’ll be given feedback on your work and learn skills to improve your writing, and get support while navigating the highs and lows of the writing journey.

We’ll match you with the perfect mentor based on your genre, writing style, and the stage you’re at with your work-in-progress.

Mentoring packages

Developing your story idea (1 x 1.5 hours)

If you love the idea of writing a novel, but find it difficult to develop a concept, or to organise your ideas into a coherent whole, you will benefit from this mentoring session. We will help you identify ideas with story potential, to organise your ideas into a structure, and to develop a storyline that’s ready to be turned into a novel.

$90

Starting your novel (3 x 1 hour)

If you have an idea for a novel, but are daunted by the prospect of beginning to write it, this mentoring package is for you. We will walk you through techniques to develop a plot outline with a scene-by-scene plan, create solid characters, and capture the reader’s interest from the start.

$175

Ongoing writing support (5 x 1 hour)

Get ongoing mentoring support, constructive critical feedback and an accountability partner. We will meet on a regular basis to discuss progress, review your work and provide suggestions and motivation to keep you on track throughout your writing process.

$250

If you would like to work with a writing mentor, get in touch and tell us a little bit about yourself and your writing, so we can match you with a mentor. You are always welcome to drop in for an informal chat about mentoring options at our Monday evening pop-up cafe.
